Recommend a new music player... I currently have a Cowon D2. - by lost_soul

I've had this device for a few years now and I've been very happy with it. The only knock I have against it is that it can't play games like Doom or run other third-party software at all. I want a device that supports Ogg Vorbis, has Standard USB functionality, and can run third-party software, like Linux and Doom/Quake. The current device I want to buy is: (
www.openpandora.org), but this doesn't look like it is coming out soon. Are there any other alternatives? I'm sure you could get an Ipod Touch to play OGG, but it would shorten the battery life, and I would rather have it just work.

Holy crap, looks like someone crammed half a Sinclair Spectrum into an old VHS tape.

Yeah, I've seen Open Pandora before, looks very impressive though a bit outside my price range (plus, as noted, I can always hack my PSP if I feel the need).
