Chill the fuck out plz.
If I wanted to read the Ion forums, I am perfectly capable of typing the URL into my browser. I don't need them re-enacted here, and I think I'm not the only one who's thinking that.
Okay?

I agree with JonahFalcon about the Realistic setting. IMHO, the weapon damages are more reasonable on that setting. It's actually more easy to play on Realistic than on Normal: You kill enemies faster and save ammo.

Argh i hear this silly argument all the time. I know you were sorta joking but this is one of my favorite rants :p
Realism when discusing works of fiction is tricky thing...many stories require acceptance of a certain set of unlikely or impossible things, but outside of that list the world MUST be considered to operate in the way the normal one does. When authors forget that the audience starts giggleing, changes the channel etc.
For example lets take Superman. If you want to enjoy a superman story you have to accept that there is a man who can fly and do other things we can not. That does not meen however that
all rules of the natural world are in flux. The stated plot premise is a man with certain amazing atributes and abilitys, his use of same should still make sense. Suspension of Newtons Laws within his presence is
not on his list of superpowers. :cheeky:
He may be superstrong, but he still shouldnt be able to lift objects which weight much more then he does (eg cars, 10 ton boulders) with his grip away from their center of gravity, either he should tip over or the part he is holding onto with his Grip of Steel should break. Dont belive me? try jacking up your car with the jack pushing on a door panel. Dont sue me for the damage.
Sure the guy can fly but having him fly around the Earth realy fast shouldnt make it spin backwards, nor for that matter should it spinning backwards make time go in reverse (Superman movie #1). Its "Unrealistic".
Some people say the first example is splitting hairs, but almost no one goes so far as to defend the second.
The point being that you can have a basicaly Realistic game with "Greys" and other such things in it with no real problem. If however the impact of say a 0.3 ounce pistol round sends a 175 pound man bouncing off the walls you have a problem. The Grey is meerly Fictional, inconsistant natural laws are Unrealistic.

Forgive me for I am new here, but the concept of one person on TTLG Forum calling another a fanboy strikes me as highly amusing. It's like two people having a discussion on a tech forum and one calling the other a geek.
Note I'm proud to be a Geek and a Fanboy in whichever order you prefer.
As for Grey's not being realistic, well they are as realistic in the context of the game as Haunts are in Thief :p

Can you dumb down Half-Life much further? It's an enjoyable franchise, but hardly brain food.
