HR didn't have a storyline. Nothing to talk about.
Go away.

Ok fine. You're right. I get it. HR had a superior storyline with cool takedowns.

I'm also surprised about that.
Me too. It's why I posted mainly over on the official forums.
I can't even remember what I voted now. Think I went for 'Enjoyed it as much as DX, but for different reasons' as that seemed closest, maybe 'Enjoyed it nearly as much" would be more accurate. It's certainly smoother to play, but I've only played it once so can't comment on it's replayability and the main effect it seems to have had so far is to make me play DX again.

How about that line in that live action trailer -- 'they have the power to turn your eyes off.' Well, perhaps they should have. EM's writers and gameplay designers could have worked that, and the implications of it, into the game in a more twisted and far-reaching fashion.
Like making augmented people go insane with psychotic hallucinations and rampage and murder the people around them?
Obviously, DX:HR is missing some ingredient necessary to make it a memorable experience.

I disagree. I loved HR and it remains a very memorable experience for me, but after playing HR about 5 times I decided I could safely put it on the back burner for replay later, so I only drop by here to check out what's going on. And yes, I sincerely feel HR was much better than TDS, IW, even Bioshock 1 and 2 and SS 1 & 2. As far as being better than anything LGS has ever put out, I haven't played a lot of the other LGS games, so I guess I don't have the right to say HR was better. But imo it is still an excellent game and one that I know I'll replay again down the road.
Besides; Skyrim's out now.
:p

I honestly don't think HR was that good. Many of the augs were useless and the story just meh. The boss fights obviously didn't fit the game, and the combat felt clumsy to me. I didn't give a shit about any of the characters. Adams girlfriend was a douche, as was his pilot, who I didn't even attempt to save.
The whole game to me felt very generic which I think was my biggest issue with it.
I voted "it's no DE, but better than the other contenders", and I was the lone vote for "about as good as IW".
Sure the writing in IW was horrible, and it was dumbed down compared to the original, but I found the story itself more compelling than HR's and I think IW actually had the more interesting NPC's.
So yes a good game but not great. Frankly, I found the Nameless Mod a much better game than both HR and IW. And if you were to compare this to a game like, lets say, VTM Bloodlines, it pales in comparison.
