Deus Ex took - that sort of thing can work, but I'm not sure it can work in a game whose tone is as po-faced as
Deus Ex'. You'd practically need a more tongue-in-cheek, Pynchon style to pull it off.
The vastness and depth of Deus Ex's lore was one of the things I loved about the game, but I see where you're coming from. I have to disagree about the overall quality of writing, though. It's certainly much more focused, but that alone doesn't make it better. I thought that its themes in particular were treated rather superficially compared to Deus Ex, and weren't integrated quite as well into its setting.

While I do think it's a good game (maybe not as good as the first two, but whatever) I voted "better than LGS" to spite shadowhide and people who think like him, because he's stupid and this poll is stupid and this thread is destined for nothing good.
