Sometimes more than one gate leads to the same place. I had at least two "Oblivions" with alternate exits quite some distance apart; means altho i had just cleaned two Oblivions i destroyed four gates. If the Sigil stones werent so useful, Oblivion could become quite the transit system. Anvil - Cheydenhal in 2 minutes, suck it up, Concorde :laff:

Of course, didn't think of that. I actually did notice that myself...
I just forgot to put two and two together.

I've seen one out of 16 that had multiple gates. With three gates.

The plan of Oblivion is Set dosent matter witch one you go in it will be the same as any other as in 1st plan 2nd plan 3rd plan the 4th plan you etner can be on ether side of the map but it will be the same no matter what at lest on 360 it is like that and as you move farther in the main quest more are around.

Update!
There's most definetely a WHOLE lot more gates than 16, thats for sure.
Whenever I go travelling/exploring new places, gates pop up everywhere!
It's almost as if, whenever I close one, a new one pops up.
Gates shut: 15.. And I'm counting at least 10 gates to go. Not counting the vast territories I haven't explored!
loser. there are multiple gates, but when you close 16, they stop appearing
RyushiBlade on 8/4/2006 at 04:18
So if you close any sixteen, the rest disappear (except the Main Quest related Bruma gate)? Well, that's a bummer. I wondered if they would all stay open so long as the Bruma gate was left untouched.
Tuco on 8/4/2006 at 04:25
Nah.
I was wondering if you would close them all, what would happen. I haven't seen any evidence that they wouldn't start opening up again (I do remember one instance where I closed one, came back later and it was open. Pissed me off). IT could've jsut been one that I accidentally visited but didn't close, but I generally make a rule not to 'find' an area without clearing it first.

Get to the tower to close the gate in Anvil? I don't see any clear path and have been jumping around like a lunatic for 1/2 an hour now...
RyushiBlade on 15/4/2006 at 21:44
Some planes require you to travel through cave systems to get closer to the tower. In other planes, you have to climb the top of the smaller towers, which are connected to the main tower by a bridge.
Fig455 on 16/4/2006 at 02:48
And those(a lot of the time) will have to have the bridges "activated" by a lever before they will extend.
