The goon squad can be annoying but for the most part I'm flabbergasted regarding this STUPID LOWTAX business.
I think it's just people being envious that they aren't as funny as Lowtax. :p

haha you know I never realised that Lowtax was an actual person.

Doesn't this qualify as assault? Fine, boxing ring and entering willingly and all that, but if they were lied to, and weren't even trained, then it wasn't exactly up to snuff, was it? I mean, if I tell a kid I'll give him candy for sparring with me, then proceed to knock his brains out, that can't be exactly legal, and not just because he was a kid.

Fraud induced consent generally isn't effective, no. It might not be applicable here though: I don't really know the details, but it kind of sounds like there's an argument that the nature of the thing should have been obvious regardless of what the critics were told.

How do we know Boll was a former boxer? I've been looking and haven't found anything about that. Watching him in action it seems pretty clear he knows what he's doing- he throws some tight chopping rights that show very good form- but how much actual boxing experience has he had?
In any case, I'm no fan of the man, and it mystifies me that someone with a doctorate in literature could be so utterly untalented at a creative endeavor or so clueless as to to the canon of filmmaking. I know of SA only by reputation, and Lowtax only by the (uniformly negative) comments here, but Boll really pulled a dick move here. Whatever these critics should or shouldn't have known is beside the point: Boll sandbagged these people and is clearly guilty of bad intent from the get-go. Andy Kaufman's foray into wrestling women had strong elements of self-mockery and a kind of is-he-or-isn't-he-serious-about-this slyness to it. Boll was out to get some getback.
edit- OK, according to a Canadian news website Boll boxed as a teenager. Maybe we should send Strontium 'The Red Menace' Dog after him.

As much as I'm sure his films are a crock (and I haven't seen any of them I don't think) I actually think he's a very clever guy. He knows exACTly what he is doing and I'll bet he makes more money than any of us (or even ALL of us combined). He may be artistically bankrupt but that's the only way he's ever going to be.

Hahaha, no way. Not unless I had at least a month of solid training first. I may have the build, but I'm not dumb enough to get into the ring with an expert boxer unless I'm prepared (which I guess puts me at least one level of smarts above the likes of Lowtax, huhuh).

No shit sherlock. Did you figure that out yourself, or was it his doctorate of literature that gave it away? :p

I dunno, has anything along the lines of "the victim should have known what was going to happen" ever been a valid defence for any crime?

Let me call, Dr Boll. I think they're still offering airfares to challengers.
I'd pay cash money to see this fight.

I'd honestly be suprised if I was the only person on this forum who thought that Lowtax was fucking hilarious.
Oh, and I honestly don't think Boll would even accept the fight when he saw Stronts' huge thighs and chest. Come on, who would fight a guy built like a brick shithouse?
