But that's precisely it, why the fuck are these internet goofs actually falling for the "it's a PR stunt, he won't hit you hard" shit?
Because this isn't a school playground and grown adults shouldn't be pulling childish stunts like that? According to Lowtax they were told repeatedly by the organizers that it was just for fun and no one was going to take it seriously and Uwe had no intention of actually hurting anyone so yeah I can see why they'd be a little pissed when Uwe came raging into the ring declaring he's going for the KOs and
then following through. Uwe's a big boy, and a former boxer, he should know exactly how much damage he could do to untrained nerds 3 classes below his weight and the fact that he did it anyway shows an incredible amount of irresponsibility and immaturity on his part.
Either way I'm not sure why you have a bug up your butt about Lowtax in particular. After watching the videos and reading the GBS thread he seemed to take it in stride pretty well, kept it midly funny, AND bowed out early enough to not be killed by Uwe. Some of those other critics got FUCKED UP.

It's wasn't just Lotax was fought Uwe. There were, I believe, half a dozen or more people who got into the ring with him and were pounded mercilessly.
Not that I have a problem with that. I still have fond memories of the only part of the Jay and Silent Bob movie that made me laugh - the part at the end where they use their new found wealth to track down and beat the shit out of every internet toughguy who had insulted them.
Uwe did it for real.
His movies still stuck, though.

I'd like to think that this outing of Lowtax as a big girl's blouse would mean an end to the steady stream of Internauts queuing up to sign over ten of their hard-earned dollars to his get-rich-quick scheme, but I sadly can't see it.
Still, maybe now he'll think twice before he acts the hardguy from behind the relative safety of a computer monitor. Uwe Boll - you have done the Internet a great service. I almost want to see one of his movies now.

Lowtax turned up, he's got nothing to be ashamed of.

What? He, among other nerds, ponied up and got their asses kicked. They did the exact opposite of hiding behind their computer monitor and Lowtax was able to keep his sense of humor after the fact (the others barely kept their consciousness)
Is this thread tapping into some sort of widespread Internet hate against SA and Lowtax? 'Cuz if that's the case then fair enough but I'd rather not wade into an Internet dramarama maelstrom unknowingly if I could just enjoy it from the sidelines instead.

Wait, so is the argument now that if you can't beat the hell from a director, you shouldn't criticize his movies? Because I'd much rather see how high my piss stream arcs than having cuts put on such a pretty face.
Matthew on 26/9/2006 at 18:10
That wouldn't be fair when you have such obviously superior equipment for it LMF.
This whole boxing business did sound a bit bizarre. Will Boll simply respond to criticism with "Yeah, but you can't beat me in the ring"?

Truly irony is the medium of Stront's virtuosity.

The whole thing had the same sort of weird mean-spiritedness as Andy Kaufmann wrestling women did.
