RAGE Twitter confirmed both id and Avalanche are working on it.

If Avalanche did Ghost Recon: Wildlands' driving I hope they never touch another game's driving again.
Wait, they did Mad Max? How did Wildlands' vehicle mechanics get that bad, then?

Reflections did GR: Wildlands’ driving, as I said.

Huh, so the guys responsible for one of my favourite racing games, Driver: San Francisco did Wildlands driving? I mean, I don't mind it quite as much as Jesh, but it's certainly not a patch on the stellar work they did in Driver SF.

The first 2/3rds of RAGE were really fun. The last 1/3rd felt very rushed and half assed.

* it's easier to get driving good in a game that's just about driving and not also about getting out and running around shooting dudes and whatnot.
* especially tricky to get the driving good when you're just bolting it on to another developer's game while simultaneously trying to not have your drivey stuff break anything else in the game.
* Driver:SF had 1 vehicle type: cars/trucks. Wildlands has 5: cars/trucks, motorbikes, helicopters, planes, boats.
* we don't know how many of the Reflections team worked on the Wildlands driving. Maybe most of them were busy with something else.
* and how many of the team members who worked on the Driver games are even still at Reflections?
* Driver 1 was the best Driver game.
* the driving in Wildlands was ok.

Okay, okay, I don't know, I missed Dr1ver when it came out (because I wasn't interested), but of the Driver games I've played, San Frisco was cheeky and stupid and hilarious and had a great soundtrack with an interesting set of gameplay mechanics, which is pretty much everything a person who dislikes games about driving needs a driving game to be.

Driver 1>Driver Parallel Lines>Driv3r>Driver SF :crossingarmssmiley: (never played Driver 2 coz it was a PS sclusie)
Yeeeeeeeeah no I never really got on with SF. The controls felt like they had this weird input lag to them (played on XB360). I should give it another go on PC at some point.
Sulphur on 15/5/2018 at 06:41
No input lag in my experience, I'd have bailed immediately if the driving was worse than I could stand. It is drifty as fuck, but I think you'd like that.

Yes, I do like drifty as fuck.
