After getting leaked by Walmart Canada and subsequently mocked by a reanimated (
https://twitter.com/RAGEgame) official Twitter account and amidst a bunch of teaser images pointing towards Monday 14th posted by (
https://twitter.com/bethesda) Bethesda Softworks it seems that the reveal of RAGE 2 is pretty much confirmed at this point:

I'm one of the few people who have actually enjoyed RAGE a lot but I thought the franchise was as good as dead. Well, it seems I was wrong and we'll find out the details tommorow. The most interesting part will be to see whether it's still being developed by id. There are some rumours it might be actually made by another studio.

Actually, that’s not true; the other reason is that I really liked RAGE the first.

I quite enjoyed it, though it was far too short. Texture pop-in was a major problem with this game, which considering you had John Carmack as one of the major programmers behind it is just unacceptable.
I'll still happily play this.

I don’t think it was all that short, tbh, but the ending was clearly truncated.

It's, um.

Yeah. Whatever that was.

It's a sequel by the guys who did the Mad Max game (not to mention the Just Cause titles). Judging by the above, if they've put a sense of humour into this thing, my interest may suddenly be piqued.

That was undeniably terrible and also a massive departure from the tone of the previous game. But I guess making everything completely ridiculous is all the rage (ugh) these days. I really hope that's just a dumb marketing thing and that the game itself won't be like that. But hey, gameplay reveal coming tommorow so we'll see soon enough. Hopefully it's better than... this.

Avalanche is making it? Cool. My interest is slightly piqued now as well. Looking forward to seeing some gameplay tomorrow.
RAGE wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough for me to bother finishing either.

Avalanche are involved, but I’m not sure it’s just them doing it. Could be they’re only responsible for the driving sections (c.f. Reflections and GR: Wildlands), or open world design, or *bleurgh* the multiplayer part.
