I can think of a hundred more demographics that are more harmful to the United States of America.
1. People who want to take away firearms from the citizens.
2. People who want to take away freedoms already written into law.
3. People who spend their economic dollars without realizing where their money goes. If you shop at Walmart, guess what, your money is undoubtedly going to China. If you buy gas at 7-11, your money goes to Hugo Chavez.
I'm still assuming that this is a joke.

Is saying "people who shoot other people should be shot" too much? :p

Like the rest of the more civilized world, I keep wondering over many US citizens' obsession with firearms.
Because, it was meant to be a deterrent for the
government. A government is far less likely to instate a totalitarian dictatorship when its citizens have the firepower to bring it down. In fact, Jefferson said that he believed we should have an armed rebellion every twenty years so the government would know its place.

Christ, not that retarded argument again. Your Walmart pistols wouldn't count for shit if Uncle Sam decided to dip into his resources.
I'm not arguing against private gun ownership, but let's keep the discussion of it within the realm of reality.

Well, my smart friend, then who makes the law? The people or the government? And whose side is the law on?
Jefferson might have been an intelligent guy, but I bet he couldn't have answered that one. In fact, the whole of US history is about the conflict between stupid citizens (not all) and even more stupid politicans. That's why you've made wars (oh, yes, you've never waged wars. You've only been declared wars
on. You just send your troops to forn countries for no reason at all.). In fact, the US is a wondrous creation: it's anarchy and dictature at the same time. You are the smartest and also the most stupid country. You are no nation but have a national identity. You would disarm everyone but yourselves (on account of everyone else being a terrorist). You are the richest and the poorest country at the same time. You are the most democratic and most racist people. And so forth.
I could just imagine you killing everybody (including yourselves) and then saying "But at least now everyone's equal.".

I'm pretty sure there's a correlation between the prevalence and importance of firearms in a culture and the proportion of people who take that importance to extremes.
Then don't have children. The more children, the more pedophiles.

I guess we're lucky it's the police, not the army, which is the universal tool of totalitarian governments.

Here we see why guns are better than America or Jesus.

Pretty sure it was intended as a deterrent for uppity slaves. Because that's what militias did back in the day. Put down slave revolts.
