*SPOILERS ahead*
The ghost pseudodogs are nothing like those other things we encounter on the road on our way to the scorcher. They look exactly like normal pseudodogs, except that they're white. They normally appear in packs of five or six, and when you shoot them they disappear, only to re-appear a few seconds later. Eventually you might end up 'really' killing one of them, but it's very hard to do it, and most likely by then you have been ripped apart by the other pseudodogs. Because they can hurt you just like a real pseudodog. We just call them 'ghosts' because they simply disappear in a white flash when they're shot at, only to reappear again, apparently unharmed.
And yes, I am wearing the psi protection device.
Understood. Strange that I didn't see them as I crossed the Red Forest all the way from the beginning to Monolith area's fence. Maybe it's because I stayed close to cliffs that border the Forest. Was near the crashed helicopter too. Maybe dogs appear only if you venture into some relatively small area.

Disabled the scorcher at last and returned to the Freedom base to prepare myself for final raid on Pripyat and powerplant.
After scorcher is disabled the area becomes not dangerous. BTW, I came across a pack of white dogs on my way back to Army Warehouses, but they weren't 'pseudo' - didn't jump, and they weren't 'psi'. Maybe they were dogs D'Arcy wrote about above, and they just became usual dogs after the scorcher was disabled.
So, how should I equip myself for Pripyat and powerplant? Will an exoskeleton work there? Should I bring rocket launcher with me? Is is possible to clear Pripyat from enemy AIs, do they respawn quickly in the area?

You want to take a sniper rifle with you, and plenty of ammo.
A NATO assault rifle like the GP37 wouldn't hurt either.

Come to think of it, the rpg might come in handy at one point outside Chernobyl NPP though it's probably not worth lugging it around for just that. Definately take a sniper rifle if you can get your hands on one, otherwise just take all your best kit generally. An exo would be good if you don't mind not sprinting and you'll be able to lug more stuff around without having to worry about going into the red since you won't be sprinting.
Minor item spoiler: You'll find plenty of good armour at this stage in the game, there's exos and the best military suits to be had in the powerplant so if you don't want to take the exo and lose your sprint, you can always pick one up a bit later when you'll benefit much more without sprint but with more guns then anyway.
I don't recall any respawning in pripyat/NPP though there is an awful lot of monolith troops pretty much everywhere. Don't expect to kill them all.
Aside from the occasional hotspot, radiation shouldn't be a problem so you shouldn't worry about the rad resistance on your armour. It's worth taking a fair amount of antirad though.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to know.

Depending on your play style, you might not want to lose your sprinting ability until you get into the NPP, as getting there is a lot easier by avoidance than confrontation.

Yeah, that's kinda what I meant, since there's plenty of exos in the NPP and the SKAT-9 in pripyat. Guess I could have worded it better.

Sprinting has been my best buddy in many situations. Damn military base in Cordon. :nono:

I'd quite like to have had in the game some kind of auto-application of rad meds. Like a scientific suit that automatically drip feeds when radiation is detected in the blood.
It fits the mechanic, as we've already got the yellow bar presumably as an indicator of radiation of the body.
Bjossi on 21/5/2007 at 15:29
But how would the suit do that? There is a needle that gets buried in Marked One's ass that will send anti-rads into his body when needed?
