I'm trying to get to the brain scorcher, I have 4 Fireball artifacts equipped and a Flash to make up for the loss of endurance.
Now, the area where I start to get shot at by Monolith snipers, it's hard to find a spot where my radiation bar doesn't skyrocket and kills me in a matter of seconds. I have +45 rad protection in my Duty suit but that doesn't seem to do much, nor do the Fireballs except get rid of radiation quickly after I get to a safe spot.
Should I go back and collect all my rad. hypos in the bar (30+ in total) and an orange science suit (gives me +90 rad resistance)? That is gonna make NATO rounds do nasty damage. . . :erm:
How did you guys get past this molecularly unstable part of the game?

Use the green scientist suit, the seva suit, or it's equivalent.
The armor protects you from radiation, and the artifacts flush it out.
If you have no other option, just use a bunch of rad hypos.

I don't think I have a SEVA handy.
Thanks for the advice, I guess my best bet is to head back and stock up on rad hypos and wear that scientist suit I mentioned above. :)
Do you by any chance know of a way to get SEVA without too much trouble? Or perhaps some artifacts that make me flush out radiation faster than it goes up?
(4 Fireballs = -80 radiation, which apparently isn't even close to make flushing faster than gaining)

Get some -30 rad artifacts. And these generally don't keep you from getting irradiated unless you're well protected with your armor.
You can get the green scientist suit by taking ghost's armor back to the scientist. This is probably the best armor in the game. It's just a bit better than the seva.
Also, just learn what to avoid. A lot of metallic objects are highly irradiated, and certain patches here and there. Most of the area is clear to walk through, though.

Ok.
But the spot where the first sniper is, is badly radiated. No chance to loot unless I'm very quick.
But I'm approaching the area again, this time with 30 rad. hypos and wearing an ecologist suit. Sucks in firefights, but I never allow bad guys to hit me more than once or twice anyways. :sly:

Yeah, if you're patient enough (and equip yourself well), you can easily avoid taking damage most of the time. Just take careful cover and go for headshots, and even master difficutly isn't too hard.
Radiation isn't so bad either, just flush it with artifacts or rad hypos, and heal up afterwards. You have plenty of supplies available anyways.

True, but those are back in my box in the Bar. I took a lot of stuff with me this time though, fx. many red medkits and a few yellow ones.
I'm gonna try and keep on going, thanks for your advices. :)

I would also highly recommend using the Vintar sniper rifle. It's a great gun, and it his lots of ammo available.

Do all the duty missions. They will give you a duty version of the ecologist suit which is pretty similar to the SEVA suit, as well as a VSS Vintorez. If you do the clear the village of bloodsuckers quest for skinflint he will give you crystal (-30 rad). On top of all that, take all the scientific medkits and antirad you can carry and be sure to purge radiation as soon as it gets to red.
I had the same problem on my first run when going to the red forest, I geared up with all the best kit I had, including that shiny green ecologist suit I had been saving for a time of need. By the time I got half way through the forest monolith troops had torn it to pieces and it gave me worse protection than the basic monolith suit which I wound up donning in the vain hope that it would give me some protection worth having. The only thing that saved my arse was an arm full of rad hypos and a damn good shooting arm with the dragunov SVD.

Isn't he a Freedom member? I'm probably just remembering incorrectly. :o
I got a mission to clear an area of bloodsuckers but I don't have a marker on the map that shows me the location, or at least there is no button next to the task that jumps to it's location.
