Radiant A.I. ? - by Aerothorn

So I'm walking through the forest near Bruma.
A deer goes racing by, with an Imperial Legion Forester in hot pursuit. It's a little irritating, why these guys seem hell-bent on killing deer but can't do anything to make the wolf population a little less annoying is beyond me, but I've seen it before. It's kinda stupid, but Radiant AI at work, figures I.
I do what I gotta do.
Five or ten minutes later, I'm wandering back through the same area and I notice an Imperial Legion Forester just kinda standing there near the path, staring at something. I figure he's nailed his deer, so I check out his handiwork. I really wish I had a screen cap of this. There's the deer, dead against a large boulder, its legs buckled but otherwise upright; and then mashed up against the dead deer, looking like he's pinned to it with arrows, is another Imperial Legion Forester, upside-down, legs splayed out, standing on his head, and also quite dead. It was like someone stuck a pushpin through two pieces of paper on a wall. And the first Forester is just standing there looking at it, as though he's admiring a painting.
And I really, really wished I could ask someone just what the fuck went on here.

Everyone seems to have cool RAI stories (yours got a smile out of me, Malgyris). The only RAI experience I've had was when some bastard killed a woman who had just given me a quest, leaving me stuck with a quest item in my inventory.
I haven't even seen NPCs kneeling next to and inspecting dead bodies. And I leave items on the ground, too, but no one seems to pick them up. I hope my RAI isn't broken. (Mild sarcasm.)

Damn, Ryushi. You are truly missing out. I have not posted anything because I don't know where to START!! I have dozens of funny and/or cool stories of the AI at work.
The ai is pretty dumb though. I was DB questing in the Drunken Dragon, and I made my hit. The mark and I, and a soldier were the ONLY people in the Inn for hours. So,like I said, I nail the guy. The guard was staring at the fire drinking mead. Eventually, he turns around and wanders around the Inn. He finds the guy deader than a doornail, kneels, and says "Body's still warm....there's a murderer nearby". I am 5 feet away holding a mace. The victim had suffered SEVERE blunt force trauma to the head......yet I wasn't even acknowledged.
And yes, The World Weary Wonder, Ognar, is hilarious. I often see him crouched all ninjar style, and reach for an onion in plan site of his favorite watering hole's owner. Olav must be REALLY used to it. All he says is "A THIEF", and promptly forgets all about his stolen onion. The fucking HILARIOUS part is Ognar will sit right down at a table and eat the shit out of that onion right in front of poor Olav. What a giant "Fuck You" that is.

Heh heh. I just picked the pockets of a quest guy (who wasn't marked essential, mind) and got seen. He just said, in an annoyed voice, "Fine, keep it. It's worthless to me anyway." No bounty, no other reaction.

Remembered some other thing. Was in some fort ruin were i had to kill some hunters. Came into a big room with some sort of pond and the boss hunter of the bunch. I think "I need to heal up abit, better dive to the bottom and prepare, he wont follow me there anyways" (playing argonian).
So i dive in, but the guy infact jumps right into the pond after me and so we fight abit underwater. After a while i just get curious just how long he could possibly stay submarine, so i just block and wait. Finally he dives up, but into the wrong corner below a ledge which is blocking the access to the water surface. I quickly follow and block his way. He struggles and grunts abit then drowns, at hairtip distance to the surface :ebil:
Another fun thing is, with the Saddlebag mod horses use potions you stash onto them. Wonder how they get the cork out :p

I love walking into the mage's quarters to find about 20 mages all fast asleep at about 8.00pm
Well, hey. Being all magic and stuff is tough work, I'd imagine.

I saw this on an "Amusing moments in Oblivion" thread on another forum:

I was seeking a place to sleep in Leyawiin and the three sisters inn was 40GP, which was a little exagerated IMO. So I thought, I work for the fighter guild so I might be able to borrow one bed there... I go there, all the way up and find an old lady sleeping in the lone bed of the room. I think "I'll wake her and steal her bed", and then, when the cursor passed on the bed, I saw the icon for sleeping was available. So I thought, "surely there is place for two in there". So I slept there for 5 hours (until day) and upon wake up, the old lady was up and saying "The pleasure was all mine" WTFF! To make it more exciting, I am playing a young nord woman.
:cheeky:

Stupid AI is psychic...I stole from the mages guild when everyone was asleep, no one saw me, and then many days later at a different mages guild the guy tells me I am expelled with no explanation. WTF.
Also, the AI has messed up priorities. Every time I encounter bandits on the road - they go after my horse. I can be shooting them in the back, an Imperial Legion dude is hacking them in the back, and they're still going after my horse.

Don't worry, they compensated for funny AI by including horse armor. Yours now for only $2 =D
