Pretty simple question: Is anyone else experiencing any problems playing Oblivion with a Radeon x850xt PE (AGP)?
The biggest problem is the ENORMOUS amount of artifacts I'm experiencing. I had a similar problem in Morrowind, which was fixed by updating the drivers. This time, however, I installed the newest drivers (released five days ago, I think?) and it made the problem worse.
I'm not so much looking for a fix - though it would gladly be welcome - because I'm sure later drivers will resolve the issue. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
I'll even try to post a screenshot.

What kinds of artifacts are they? And do they appear just randomly?

Graphical artifacts (giant, single colored pixels scattered across the screen), not any item artifacts ;)
They're most prominent during lighting effects, such as from torches, while outside I don't usually see many artifacts at all.

Are you using bloom/HDR? I had a massive mesh of large pixels when I was first playing sometimes, and turning bloom off stopped them. That's the best I can do, and I'm not sure it'll be much use, since I have a different card

I've got that card, but no problems here. Only thing i can think of is that you've turned off "Refractions" in the ini file, which will cause black stuff to appear instead of particle effects.
Also, turn off anti aliasing if you are using it, and bump up the resolution instead.

I do have bloom on, as well as 6x AA and I'm running it at 1280 x 960. Changing the AA and my resolution will often lower/raise the amount of artifacts, depending on what I'm doing, but it's still a crazy amount.
I also have this other crazy bug. Whenever I change my video settings, it reverts back to what I had before, both in game and out. I'll try reinstalling Oblivion to see if it fixes that problem.

And I thought I was having problems :erg: I just get some big graphical problems when I go to an Oblivion Gate and when I see some certain magical effects, but I've heard so many stories of people who have it worse than me :p

We'ren't you the one mentioning making oblivion.ini read-only in another thread? That would prevent the game from changing any settings. As would having oblivion.ini open when you're making the changes.

Oh, yeah, that was me ;)
Still, reinstalling was worth it just to see if it fixed the artifact problem, but it didn't. I'm wondering if my card is busted?

9 times out of 10 artifacts are from overheating. Radeons are notorious for having cheap/inefficient coolers. Buy some Arctic Silver and a new 3rd party cooler and I almost guarantee your problems will go away.
