I plan on getting this game for my birthday, I can't just go out and buy it now because my mom to won't let me, too close to my B-day. Anyway seeing that I have nothing else to do, what are the pros and cons for each race?

I can't really think of pros and cons for all the races....to me they just have different abilities and advantages...
Dunmers have Ancestral Guardian(when the power is used, it makes it very hard for opponents to hit you for about 60 seconds, and this power may be used once a day.)
Orcs can go beserk, they get really strong, but take bad hit on agility.
etc...
There are more, but I can't think of them now.

I play a Redguard, touted as the most naturally suited warriors. Redguards get "adrenaline rush" which is +30 to all attributes (i think) for 60 seconds. It's alright, but I have only really used it a few times, because you can only use it once a day. It's helpful when you have an extremely difficult battle ahead though.

the racial abilities are completely useless after 30 mins of gameplay, because they are so underpowered compared to ur spells. Personally, I like the Breton, because of their 50% resistance to all magicka, and their extra magicka intelligence bonus. I play a Breton mage, and i maxed my intelligence, and now have it constant effect enchanted to 189. Because of me being Breton, and having the birthsign Atronach, i haev 663 Magicka :-D very, very nice. The other race i would suggest is Nord.

Nord...
They have the best resistances (immune to frost, 50% resistance to shock), tie orcs for the best stats for a warrior.
I don't recall them having any penalities as well.
They're also the second tallest race, which makes you look cool.(tallest is high elves..)

Orcs own the warrior class. If nothing else, for sheer style with a topknot and nifty fangs (still called fangs when lodged in the lower jaw?).
And the fact that we *are* the Legion these days speaks for itself. :cheeky:

Seriously, the races are quite varied in terms of skill bonuses and attributes (note that males and females have different attributes usually), and are good for various classes... Bretons and High Elves probably make the best mages, Khajiit and Wood Elves the best thieves... Redguards, Nords and Orcs are the best warriors... Dark Elves are pretty well-rounded, but have no personality... that sorta thing :) And don't be fooled, the racial abilities can be EXTREMELY useful.. well... most of the time... My 19th level dark elf STILL uses his defensive ability in tough fights.... And while I haven't played an imperial, their charm ability probably comes in REALLY handy when you have to get friendly with people and have low speechcraft and .. uh.. available funding

make your own. I wish i had gotten to know the editor before i made my first, hes too far along to start over but i started my 2ndary over as a new race i called the scorned. really cool warrior like race of humans that have been burned alive through betrayal of their govt, or a loved one, ect. Had fun making a bandaged look on the bodies and messing with the zombie heads =)
modeled him after Shisshio from RK if anyone knows who that is even had a sign made for him that uses his moves, lol like the one where he picks you up and ignites an explosion point blank: 200 flame dmg, 100 fatigue damage, range touch, 20 armor damage to myself.. heh those gloves take a beating from that. Its so much funner to just design your own look and abilites as oposed to using your own, just dont be cheap and give them 100's to everything 310 is about what the other races are at total points

Beast races can't wear shoes, and some of the best items around are shoes. I just found the dwemer boots of flying, but my argonian can't put them on! :mad:
