Evidently he wants your kids from birth on up and a word to the candidate of hope, socialism has been tried and it doesn't work.
Agreed, but apparently we are slow learners.
This is particulalry frustrating since these days both the Republican and Democrat parties seem to be headed in just that direction. The only real differance IMO is that the Democrats are far less ashamed about it.

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It's pretty sad that the only candidate who truly advocates diminution of government is also batshit insane (lol Ron Paul).
I fucking love Ron Paul, but I realize that is because I am probably also batshit insane. That said, I would take batshit insane over corrupt and insubstantive anyday.
Edit: Fine, be that way.

I'm inclined to agree with you, which scares me to some degree.
I kind of toyed with the idea of Ron Paul winning and spending so much time fighting Congress to put through his radical ideas that neither he nor the rest of the government have time to do anything unpleasant to us.

Obama must have pretty deep pockets since on the site it says Obama would pay for this and Obama would pay for that..
It's amazing what you can afford when you aren't pissing away billions of dollars on a retarded occupation!

It's a lot harder for a totalitarian police state to cow a populace that's armed.
This argument hasn't really been relevant for, what, fifty years now? One hundred?
Having said that, I technically fall on the same side of gun rights as you because I don't feel the consumption of bangers and mash and Guinness should be banned on account of the paint-peeling belches I was unleashing upon my poor friends this evening.
Also: stop with the retarded teenage quotes, I could set my watch to your horseshit.
Also II: fuck Ron Paul and his utterly stoneage views on, well, EVERYTHING BUT IRAQ.

Don't be flippant.
It's a lot harder for a totalitarian police state to cow a populace that's armed.
Yeah, because it's oh-so-difficult for a totalitarian state to squish dissenters in ones and twos. If you've got enough people to put up an actual fight, you could probably manage it without your semi-automatics, too.
If you want historic proof, take a good look at the uprisings in Eastern Europe during the Soviet occupation...
The reason the Hungarian uprising failed wasn't because the citisenry didn't have automatic weapons. It was because the fist of the USSR came down on the, in comparison, tiny country. Up to that point, the rebellion went pretty well.
In contrast, flash forward to the late 80s, and almost immediately after the Soviets relaxed their grip, Eastern European communist dictatorships fell one after another.

Not to mention it's also a lot more difficult to invade a country that has an armed populace. Just ask any Israeli about that.
Gee, and I thought it was military intelligence, home team advantage, preemptive strikes, technological superiority, and the support of
the most powerful military in the world.

I wonder why our politicians are so afraid of law-abiding citizens owning weapons?
Possibly because when you can criminalise guns, you can lock crooks up for having them. As opposed to letting them off.
That thought ever occur to you?
Don't try to poke holes in it, I know you can. Doing so won't increase the intelligence of the average politician.

important fail-safe to prevent our government from becoming what it once fought against over two hundred years ago.
In the meantime, the rest of the world will no doubt slide into 1984... Oh, wait.
Anti-liberty rethoric and unaccountability (lol national security) will do that far faster then gun control laws.

Next thing you'll tell us is that Soviet Russia was socialist in anything but its name.

As always with these things you have to wonder if they're talking about real socialism, the sort used all over the world to one degree or another, or American Boogeyman Socialism which was kinda made up to permit vast defense expenditure or all sorts of things really.
(I always forget from time to time and try to have a sane discussion on the apparent inevitability of socialism in democracies, then I realise I've forgotten to clarify I'm talking about reality and they're twitching and carrying that "Maw! Dig urp the arsenal!" look)

I wasn't aware that China was the US?
We haven't had the most powerful military for a while.

You are fucking stupid if you think the US is somehow immune to the totalitarian path. There is nothing magical that protects our country's government from becoming too powerful. It can happen. It
will happen if we let it happen.

In our defense the "American Boogeyman Socialism" is actually Stalinism. I don't have any problem with the way the European socialist states run themselves, I just would prefer my own country not to be that way.
