Because, I got the reply in before someone, like yourself, replied to ZB. At that time of night/morning it's unlikely that you get two or more between. In this case the subject matter is not a hot topic.
In this case, responding to you, I wrote this in Notepad, came back, read the thread, and then slipped this in. Had there been comments between, I would have quoted. Perhaps not all, but enough to maintain the continuity. :D

Really, this thread should have been titled "Quoting entire HUGE posts", as that's the only thing people really object to. Holy god, over on the Eidos forums there are multiple morons who regularly quote an entire screenful of text, just to add on "Good idea! :cheeky: :D "
I think some of them are even moderators.

The problem will be solved once we're not looking at static snapshots of a dynamic website any more.

Perhaps. I never really consider time because there are people on TTLG from all around the world.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking about too, well once the problems of the beta have been solved. If you can see people answering while you write, you don't have to ponder quoting any more. I do hope Google adds a flat view mode though, because the tree view gets unwieldy real fast.

Am I the only one who uses the Preview button? When I post in "hot" threads, I click the Preview button to see if someone else posted while I was writing, and if my post in the altered context still makes sense.
Why does everything need to be so complicated?
Kolya on 10/12/2009 at 12:06
I'm pretty sure I've had the preview only show the posts made up to the point where I hit reply. It certainly doesn't take later edits in. Might be a cache thing.

It does show all the posts that have been submitted at the time you click Preview. I've noticed this quite often.

Some forum software warns you when hit Submit if there have been more posts made since you started replying. It's a nice touch.
