Hello, I have been playing Morrowind for about a month now and I love it. I want to play a thief, but not wear heavy armors. I tried out the Unarmored skill, but it doesn't seem to help much. my question is.. is it possible to take the normal clothing in the game and make it into armored clothing with the editor? I don't want to cheat, i would want to make it comparable to the light armor in the game, armor rating wise and cost. I just can't see a thief wearing armor as he pickpockets and runs from the guards. I have played around with the editor and made a couple of small mods for myself, but have had no luck with what i described. can anyone help me? Thanks in advance...

I suppose you could always just duplicate the individual pieces of light armor you want to copy, but give them the respective meshes (shapes) and skins of the clothing you wish to look like you're wearing...

Well, lots of light armours are fairly "Thief-ish" moreso than alot of the clothing, but if your deadset on unarmoured there's quite a few mods out, one very good one in particular increases your dodge as your unarmoured goes up, which makes it roughly comparable with other armour skills, you can find it, along with alot of other good balance mods (

Problem is you'll need Tribunal for alot of these, but if you don't have it yet and like Morrowind I HIGHLY suggest you pick it up, the new areas/quests are great, theres a bunch of nice extra stuff, plus the extra scripting fuctions means that all the really cool looking ambitious mods will probably require it, so it's in your best intrest to pick it up.

Thanks for all the great info, was a big help. I do plan on getting Tribunal within the next two weeks or so, I think i am a little more than half way through the main quest with my fighter type, and can't wait to go back through with a thief and mage. Thanks again.
