yeah, you will need mods. no repair in the vanilla version.
some mods let you repair at the traders, others have regeneration, look around. but be warned: don't use mods that change the spawning of enemies because right now they are not compatible with patch 1.0004.
like the others said: first levels until bar are harder because your weapons and armor suck.....then you actually feel overpowered. btw: you can do headshots with a lousy silenced pk from across the map, just takes patience and about 200 bullets :cheeky:
and I wouldn't attack the military outpost in the first stages. I always got raped. when you got your first automatic weapon with enough ammo and some nades then it's time to take them out.

I've reached the bar area already, i have decent armor now and some kind of modified sniper rifle with around 460 bullets :) it's still challenging enough for me on stalker difficulty. kinda odd they didnt include repair
it noticed now that you also had to edit a file to get the mods to be "recognized" by the game lol. well at least i noticed it before finishing the game :P

You are getting close to carrying the NATO assault rifles then. If you thought the Obokan was effective at close and mid-range. . . :sly:

Climb up to the enclosed perch on the warehouse roof - then just crouch and shoot for easy kills :p

Easy kills yes, but a very expensive method when you consider ammo usage. ;)

The main disadvantage of attacking the Military Outpost in Cordon too early on is that afterwards you'll get insane numbers of soldiers patrolling the area, even moving on to the Garbage.

I generally lure the military back to Cordon and fight them with the rookies.

I get myself an Obokan and then deal with the military guys myself, my Marked One is a loner at all times. :p

That's waiting a bit too long for me. I like to get my AKs and grenades from those guys right at the start.

I usually get an AKm or a Viper 5 from one of the bandits by the house where you enter the Garbage area, so it isn't a very long distance from the military outpost.
