I've played it. It is a mixed RPG/FPS game. You play a guy trying to rescue his daughter, in some fictional Central American country, and you have several different factions in the game, for whom you can complete quests, earn money, and progress towards your final goal of finding your daughter. The outcome of those quests will influence the type of relations you have with each faction. These factions are the Government, CIA, Bandits, Mafia, Indians, Civilians and Guerrillas. In the game you can drive all sorts of vehicles (you learn how to drive new vehicles as the game progresses), including helicopters and planes.
In concept, it should be a good game. But my advice is to keep away from it. It's relatively fun in the beginning, but then it becomes repetitive, and towards the end it gets insanely difficult. Furthermore, the game is a resource hog: imagine that Stalker, instead of having different areas, with loading zones, had instead one single huge map. That's how Boiling Point is.
