Oh, I get it. This is now the thread where the teenagers show us how "edgy" they are.
Then why hasn't Noid said anything edgy yet?

I recall something about spilling one's seed unnecessarily.
Onanism. I think Onan was trying to avoid someone or other that God wanted him to do and so his spilled his seed just to show he didn't care. Or something.

Yes. But nothing to do w/ masturbation. Which is probably lucky for Neopendragon.
[edgy teenage quip]Fuck Jesus! I mean really really fuck him! Up the ass! I mean, like, God is a big stupidhead![/edgy teenage quip]
*there I probably just saved this thread at least 2 or 3 pages

But surely the accompanying filthy, lustful thoughts are a no-go?
If so, is wanking given the Biblical a-ok only on the condition that it is deeply clinical and unsatisfying?
THIS IS A VITAL (T)ISSUE

Yeah, Onan refused to have children with his dead brother's wife, so God killed him.
It's an important distinction - I mean, God killing people for simple masturbation would be totally immoral and wrong. But God killing people for utilising the withdrawal technique - that's PERFECTLY OKAY!

Ok - I need to fag up the thread. The predominant issue with Onan wasn't about the orgasm. The basis for all of the insane things like this in the OT are ALWAYS primarily about the preservation of the commonwealth of Israel - therefore the procreation laws, commandments about marriage outside of the race, etc. Preservation of Israel was necessary to fulfill prophecy re: Mesiach (Christus) being born of the Jews through a traceable genealogy, blah blah blah.
As for wanking off, it is my professional opinion that if it's deeply clinical and unsatisfying, you're doing it wrong. Come over here and I'll instruct you.

Except in this case it was Onan directly refusing to do what Levitical law told him to do, which was offer levirate marraige to his brother's widow. He apparently refused to father children with her due to the fact they would be considered his brother's and not his, even though she was now part of Judah's household now and needed a husband to care for her and conceive her children so she would be taken care of in her old age.
In other words, he directly disobeyed God, and under the days of Levitical law, God was not always the most forgiving. He expected obedience, and Onan failed in this capacity.
edit: and fett, who is more qualified, says it shorter and sweeter. And as he mentioned, Tamar is mentioned in Matthew's genealogy of Jesus, so God obviously had plans for her children. Onan's refusal to do his duty was a slight hamper to the line, so Tamar later became the father of Perez through Judah, her father-in-law, thus continuing the genealogy onwards towards Christ.

Well see now we've gone and made this all boring. :bored:
The thread will die........now.
