Question on website functionality... - by MikeTheRed

Sometimes I'm too busy to get to the website for days. Then I jump into a lot of threads at once.
Is there any way to see the threads in a forum for which I am not the most recent person to reply?
If you see what I mean. Do the forums have this functionality, somehow? To filter out threads that have me as the last person to respond.
(Is this the right forum to ask this question?)
Thanks! Great forum - MTR

I'm assuming you want to filter it down to "the threads you replied to where you are not the most recent poster" rather than "every single thread on the forums that doesn't have me as the last reply" :D
Best way to do that off the top of my head would be to Subscribe to threads you're actively engaged in... That way you'd be notified when someone added a reply. If I remember right, it's only going to send you one notification per thread subscribed (so you wouldn't get spammed with a notification EVERY TIME SOMEONE REPLIED, just once), so you'd have a tidy list of all threads you marked which have new replies since the last time you read them.
Long as you keep your Subscribed Threads thing tidy (like, unsubscribing to threads you're no longer interested in, or which have seen no activity in months), it should all be pretty peachy.
Assuming I've understood what you're asking. :D

Hi Gingerbread, and thanks for the quick reply...
No sorry, I wasn't clear... what I mean is, while I'm actually viewing the forums, live. (Not waiting for subscription replies.) Like I say, I'll be away a number of days, then reply to a number of threads. This causes half of the top dozen to have me as replying to them... and involves some left-to-right eye motion to see which I haven't replied to.
It's an extremely minor thing. But if there is a way to suppress the threads I was the last one to reply to, that'd be a nice little thing. I'm just wondering if forums in general, or this forum, have that level of functionality. If anyone knows.
Thanks!! - MTR

Wait, so you don't care if they're ones you've participated in, just as long as you can filter it so that any thread that has one of your replies as the most recent will be filtered out?

Thread titles with posts in them that you haven't read appear in bold.

That's right Gingerbread.
It's really not a big deal. But if there is some way to do it, it'd be nice.
Hey thanks David - that should help.
Thanks, folks! - MTR

It's not really worth starting a new thread for, but when did our Inbox sizes get doubled? Thanks very much for that change! :D

I always thought they were at the doubled value (Admin's get more, so I don't see the Member amount regularly) and someone mentioned in that they were getting low on 'space'. As they don't take up a huge amount it didn't seem like a big deal to up the limit.
And you're welcome :)

More space!!!! A good change!
Someone might get hurt now I fear :sly:

Why would you need a larger limit? I always just saved the PMs to my hard drive and emptied my inbox, and I have quite the collection, (a bit frightening to sit down and count them, never thought twice about it before) though I've never deleted a single back-up. It's much faster to search through the PMs when a large chunk are in one file anyway. Though, it will be nice to not have to empty it so often.
