Many Spoilers ahead:
I have forged the mithril sword (one handed sabre) and used the Koltk powder on it. I have a dragon egg which I purchased from the dragon and I used it on the sword. I get a msg when I float the cursor over the sword - "Ready to be enchanted". According to the FAQ and Arx Adobe guide, I then should use the Enchant object spell on it and I should get the Ultimate Weapon. I am able to use the enchant object spell, but when I use it on the sword, my character says "I don't have the skills to do that". I read in the guide I need a level 8 spell to do this. How do you know what level you are casting the spell at? Also, another way of doing this is to supposedly use an 'Enchant weapon' *scroll* instead. Well, I have a *brown* Enchant weapon scroll which is listed in the manual as being level 9. If I try to use this scroll on the weapon, my character says " I shouldn't do this". What the heck am I doing wrong? Thanks a lot.

I believe a level 8 spell requirement means you need at least 80 casting skill to meet it. Use the scroll, don't try to combine it. You need the spell from it, to cast on the sabre.

That was it! Thanks so much, I was really pulling my hair out over that one. Once I simply 'clicked' on the sabre it worked. OK, on to Akbaa...

The incredibly clunky interface was definitely my least favorite part of Arx.
