what is the green part in the icon?
i am doing a piece of art with that icon,and would like to know what the green in it is suppost to be,,the background of the sprocket,i am assuming
its suppost to be the seperation of forest with gears,but would like to know what you all think it is

I always assumed it is some kind of quartz.

Mechanist's uniforms: un back the gear is in gold color the all other textile is green.

When I made the slightly higher quality icons some tools use I assumed it was green marble.

ty all i figured in the end it was just some green and black texture in the gap of sprocket,i guess i will try to come up with something
although if it was a tiny forest of trees it would be kinda going along with story as thief 1 was more pagan based and thief 2 was age of metal so the mix of 2 would have been good
i would whos task it was to make it and if they would remember what there idea was on it,if any
and yes lemalin i also think its a marble maybe due to the high end quality of the mech's?
