question about guilds... - by steppin' razor

i'm considering joining the assassin's guild, but i'm a thief and one of the rules for the assassin's guild is to not steal unless you've got an official writ. would it be a problem if i joined the assassin's guild and kept stealing stuff, or is it only a problem if i get caught? oh, and is there a limit to the number of guilds you can join?
one other question, not guild-related. i keep picking up all this stuff. it doesn't weigh much on its own, but together it's quite a bit. its stuff like grave dust and scuttle and black anther and all those other root/herb type things. so, what do i do with all these? i've been selling some when i've got more than one, but i'm assuming there's more to it than that. i've got a motar and pistal too, so i'm guessing you can mix stuff together, maybe to make your own potions? if so, is there any place to find out what's good to mix/ingest and what's not, or do you just have to pick that info up as you go?
thanks much,

hehe rules are made to be broken. Even though the guild is against thievery, even if your caught by guards the Morag Tong couldn't care less. Howver I do not advise stealing items from the Morag Tong guildhalls. I've never been caught but if you are you'll probably be attacked on site . . . . you'll kill the members . . . . get booted out :( .
There is no limit on the number of guilds u can join except for the three great houses. You can only join 1 great house with each character although there are pluggins for joining all. This was tested and was impractical when conflicting quests could not be resolved.
In the Bloodmon expansion i think you have to choose to either support the colony or to destroy it. You get a rank in the east india cmpany by helping it so this is the same as any other uild. I think you can choose to not help the company and you still raise rank in the east india company. I would check this though.
The ingredients you have are useful. If you alchemy skill is high you can see that most ingredients have more than 1 use. This means you can create a lot of potions. You just drag your apparatus i.e your mortar&p and then drag the ingredients. Its similar to spellmaking. If your alchemy skill sucks then just forget about it and sell the stuff.

Since the ingredients for fatigue restoring potions are plentiful, you can get some good money by making them and selling 'em. And if you stumble across the procedure for making skooma, tell me ;) .
