Ok...
I have used a few different 'Non Quest' switch mods, but they don't seem to work since I have the newer version of Shivering Isle. I have some damned keys and written stuff that just won't leave...(like the mod that gives you Horde Armor...and it's official....yet the damn horse armor note just wont disappear because it's a quest item.) What if I will never want a horse??? lol....
thanks to anyone who responds with something meaningful...

Well, you could try looking for a shivering isles 'no quest item flags' mod, I use one for oblivion but don't have shivering isles. If you can't find one of those, there may well be a console command to remove items from your inventory, you might want to investigate that. It's probably worth checking the (
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Main_Page) elder scrolls wiki, there may be a solution on there.
Failing that, you could use the CS to make your own, shivering isles specific, mod to remove quest item flags.

using the construction set... interesting....didn't know you could make mods that way. I never opened it. I used the CS for Neverwinter Nights, and NWN2, but it looked FAR less complicated and less hard. Kinda intimidated by the Oblivion one...

If you download the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, it removes the quest status from most Quest Items after the quest is over. It also fixes many other issues and I recommend using it anyway without hesitation. There are also Unofficial Patches for Shivering Isles and the Official Plugins as well.

I did...
I downloaded all patches including the 'non official' popular ones....
It works for some quest items...but not others...

'Quest items' are just plain stupid. Does Bethesda think we're too dumb to pay attention to the quests we're doing? Or that if we stumble across some weird and rare thingy that we won't stick it somewhere for later or just leave it? In Morrowind can kill the GODS, and you can walk around naked whenever you so choose. Humans need to evolve to survive. Bethesda seems to go backwards. Bethesda should not still be alive. But they continue to frustrate me with stupidly-made games.

A number of very vocal
Morrowind players complained long and loud about losing quest items due to their own stupidity, and the result is this fine bit of dumbing-down in
Oblivion. Actually, much of the dumbing-down that took place between the two games is a result of stupid player feedback, and "adjusting" for a wider (and more brainless) target audience.

Or easily distracted and forgetting players (i.e. me), please send more fresh brains!!!
