I am having trouble with this quest. I have gone to the inn, and told both people that I am a merchant....however, I have not been able to trigger the attack by Caminalda, despite travelling all the way to Kvatch.

Make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and spend the night sleeping at the inn first. You should have a suspicious conversation with someone who overheard that you were a merchant as well. Let her chat to you then go to bed.

If you've done everything right, then you should see whats-her-name (the one who told you to pretend that you're a merchant) and a friend waiting for you outside the inn.

Had to reload an earlier save, and lost several horus of progress. Afterwards, it worked fine. A bug that pisseth me off.
