Australia is a country I've thought about relocating to in the past and might in the future... can anyone speak to how they like living there vs. elsewhere?
The entire country is a desert, except when it's underwater, and every other animal is capable of inflicting a mortal injury.
Hope this helps o>

Are you white? Otherwise you may be targeted for random bashings on the walk home.
Besides that, rapturestralia is fantastic.

Come on, that only happens in Melbourne.
And some other cities.

There are a few things that have kind of put me off moving to Aus (which we were seriously considering about 8 years ago). There is so much that would be great about it but there seems to be some balancing going on worldwide. If you live in a country with awesome space, landscapes and weather you'll be at risk of floods, fires and beasts. Or if it's Africa, well you know what problems there are there.
But if you live in place like this (UK, or most Northern European countries actually) which is politically stable and not at risk (in general) from Acts of God or beasts the. weather. just. sucks.
It's a trade off!

God made a place of what you speak and it's called Canada. Awesome space, awesome landscapes, okay weather: no floods, no fires, no beasts.

Are you crazy? That place is full of 15 different types of cold.

I dunno about the rest of the country, but BC certainly get's plenty of bushfires. Then there is the fact that the country regularly grinds to a halt when cold snaps or blizzards set in. As far as beasts go, bears will fuck you up.
I haven't experienced flooding in Canada though, so I'll give you that.

This. If I have to dress up like the Michelin Man or risk certain death to enjoy those flood free guaranteed grand vistas, then it ain't worth it.
