I'm sure that trying to force a shitty OS that spies on you by using a shitty digital storefront (that also spies on you) is going to work out SO much better than their previous shitty DRM system that would lock you out of your own saves if you tried to play offline.
And no, it's still not fixed. I have a number of games on my windows 8 micro-book that lock me out of my saves if I'm trying to play offline....which is semi-frequently due to how often I travel.

I'm watching the first episode of the Quantum Break "TV series". C grade boring dreck with soap opera actors, who thought this shit was a good idea? Witnessing the social lives of the villain's henchmen, so exciting. Just what people look for in a power fantasy fulfillment Action Adventure game, amirite?
Later it turned into a poverty-stricken Bourne Identity. It's fine for what is, but it involves side characters so who gives a shit?
I like to clown Sony exclusive games for being glorified interactive movies but this shit is beyond meme absurdity. It's like Xbox saw David Cage's and Naughty Dog's Hollywood envy malarkey and said "hold my beer".

so no one here has played this yet? Been pretty cheap on sale lately and I've been tempted because I enjoy Sam Lake but it doesn't sound promising.

I think henke played it.

A bit, up till the first half-hour TV soap, at which I bailed. The gameplay was decent tho, and it looks amazing. There's this one part where you're basically walking through a timelapse-sequence and it's one of the most visually impressive things I've seen in a game.

I'm nearing the end of 2nd act now. Once you have the full suite of powers the combat is fun. Combat is on the easy side even on hard difficulty.
There's some bizarre design choices like a lack of blind fire, i.e. a staple of cover-based 3rd person shooter combat. You can't hip-fire either, it has to be aimed.

Eh, aside from the aforementioned time lapse sequences it looks pretty damn average IMO. A couple notches above Mass Effect Andromeda at best. Uncharted 4 this game certainly ain't (i.e. a similar game which looks actually does look AMAZING).
The lack of graphical wow had me questioning why the hell this was melting PCs at release. Probably just shit optimisation from MS forcing Remedy to use DX12 (which was at the time very new) + UWP general suckage. I'm running the DX11 Steam release and it's a constant 60fps on Ultra detail settings, 1080p resolution. I've got a Geforce RTX 2060.

I played it too, and I thought it was their best game since MP2, with huge caveats (I wasn't a fan of Alan Wake, but Alan Wake's Sand Motel Nightmare or whatever it's called was much better). The TV show segments aren't exactly prestige TV but they're watchable. The gameplay's the closest they've come to Max Payne's combat loop since MP2, but it's looser in terms of shooting and the general time power fuckery you get, and you can't shake the feeling that the combat's not as sharp as it should be.
I loved the quasi B-movie story even though many of its beats are workmanlike, because it's evident Sam Lake had at least as much fun with the script and asides as he did with MP1 and 2 - also, the fact that it's not as self-aware and pretentious about itself as Alan Wake helps. The story's your usual time travel hijinx with a healthy dose of Sam Lake flavour, but it goes to a surprisingly poignant place near the end, and I wasn't expecting that.
Oh yeah, and like henke said, it's a gorgeous-looking game. If you can stomach the blur from the reconstruction technique they use. Control looks even more extraordinary, and I for one can't wait for it to get here.
