Quake 1 Enhanced not working

So I just installed Quake 1 Enhanced (with the Scourge of Armagon and Dissolution of Eternity expansions) on my Win7 x64 pc, and no matter what I do (compatibility modes, disabling themes and desktop composition...), they don't run properly. Whenever I start the game, I see the hud at the bottom, but as for the rest all that shows up is the sky:

My old Quake 1 (Winquake.exe) runs fine, and Quake Enhanced used to run perfectly on my old XP system, but now I have no idea why it won't run :(

I have an Nvidia Geforce 7100, with Win 7 x64, and 4gb of ram.

I would try some other source port, (http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/download.html) dpquake for example.
