Garrett, Master Hax0r? Assuming that you're serious, though, how do you suggest hacking would work in a Thief-like world? I could imagine some kind of gigantic electromechanical machine filling a hall or two (with a slightly brutalistic design) and controlling the most immediate world with it, but making it a portable device feels like a bit of a stretch.

Considering TDM takes place in yee olde medieval days, they'd have to use something like an Apple II or Commodore 64.
God forbid they throw in something like a 486. That'd break the suspension of disbelief.

Oooh that's a neat idea, it'd be cool if hacking involved running around the machine swapping vacuum tubes around to maybe craft a path from desired input/out and cranking some gears or levers in the process.

Yeah, that could work (althoughg maybe best if limited to one or two required tasks). One could even climb around
inside the machine (perhaps with the added risk of falling) to get to each tube. Turning off the lights and having the room lit only by the tubes could give a nice effect too.
This reminds me of (

Rymdväktaren ("The Space Guardian") and (

Nyaga. in which they built a huge "superquantum computer" inside the Moon and I think the elevator from the surface actually went down inside and through it, and one could watch the innards while riding the elevator. They also simulated God (presumably the Christian one), most likely using this crazy-huge machine of theirs (I no longer remember the details).

Took a gander at the Steam Workshop for QC today and found this mission called El Sorrado Speedway. Good news is it's exactly the kind of mission I was hoping to see start popping up in the Workshop. Well-designed and challenging, took me about 40 min to complete. :) The bad news is it's the only fan mission to show up in the Workshop since the game's release. :erg:
