So, I got the Steam version of Deus Ex (having loaned out my own), installed that, installed the Nameless Mod, and gave it a try.
So far, I wandered south and west a bit, found a pistol in the Kraut Castle, got attacked by a goat worshipper :p and then had the game crash unexpectedly - and took Steam down with it. I'm impressed. :D
First update: So, going into hostile territory (the aforementioned goats), they don't turn hostile until they've seen me. Including if I beat them upside the head with a baton. Repeatedly.
Second update: I appear to have been given a choice between mildly creepy but somewhat sympathetic faction, and even more creepy while totally unsympathetic and indeed blatantly malevolent faction. Reminds me a bit of the Bioshock harvest/save choice, really. I'm tempted to just toss a LAM over my shoulder on the way out of that interview...

Third update: So what's up with the server room that has poison gas except when the camera spots an intruder? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Third update:
So what's up with the server room that has poison gas except when the camera spots an intruder? Shouldn't it be the other way around? That's never happened to me. I would hope that if it had happened to anyone before they would have reported it as a bug.

Meh the AI event trigger tends to pick up alarms from half-way across the level. I can live with it.
I hope you patched, by the way.
