Lone Idol Sombrero? Your parents we're hippies, weren't they?
Zylonbane's, maybe, though I doubt it.
MY name is a lot less Texas, and certainly more common, even 'round these parts (posting from a phone sucks so I'll tell you all about it later).

My first name is Dustin, my mothers surname, derived from the Irish Duston.
Early ancestor Hannah Duston, was kidnapped with her children by indians in colonial days, dragged through the forest primeval for miles.
Like most women she was untrustworthy. One night the guard went to sleep. Hannah grabbed tomahawk from one of them, slew 10 and took her kids and skedaddled back through the forest to home.
Dustin the Turkey
Dustin the Turkey, is an Irish television puppet and star of RTÉ's The Den since 1989. A "turkey vulture" with a strong Dublin accent...
Dustin Hoffman
Dustin Quasar Sacks Just because I like the middle name. What were his parents thinking?
founded the strategy game developer Sillysoft Games.

I'm (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_(angel)) the forgotten archangel, a (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael) Renaissance painter and a giant (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_(TMNT)) turtle. A singer (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_(singer)) in Spain and a singer (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphaël_Haroche) in France. There's (

I'd rather forget about the singers. The rest is cool. ;)

Oddly, my name is also Matthew, I was named for my great-uncle Matthew Munn. I suppose that my favourite namesakes would be:
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Matthew) The big Saint M, without whom I'd not have a name and who showed me that even people with jobs other people hate can still get on in life.
(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Perry) Matthew Perry, who I will admit to really liking as an actor, especially his appearances in The West Wing and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
If Geebums can post a ship, then (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_%28ship%29) so can I:
Inline Image:
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u73/Matthew_Morrison/200px-Matthew_Dec09.jpgHonourable mentions go to (
http://www.matthewpinsent.com/) Sir Matthew Pinsent the Olympic rower, (
http://www.musewiki.org/Matthew_Bellamy) Matthew Bellamy the lead singer of Muse, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Fox_%28actor%29) some guy who got Lost, the man who (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_C._Perry) introduced the Japanese to gunboat diplomacy (but his brother got the ship named after him) and (
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000190/) a couple of (
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000111/) actors; I'm also nicking (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthias_Sammer) Matthias Sammer as it's close enough.
And for the SPECIAL BONUS EXACT NAMESAKE, my first and last names are shared by some actor, but as he was doing American soaps and stage acting I'd never seen anything he was in. Well, (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glee_%28TV_series%29) until recently.

My name is something rather unspeakable from an obscure foreign (to you all) language and rather uncommon even among my own people. Hence, I have no notable namesakes.
Except for that one guy who founded a dynasty of Scandinavian kings, and was a friend of Odin. Yeah, that guy.

The mighty New Labour warriors Campbell and (even more accurately spelled) Darling. Although I hate them both for their part in moving the Labour party to the right of the Lib Dems.
The Internet says it's a Scots Gaelic version of Alexander so I can have the parrot and all that other stuff too.
My middle namesake beat French Admiral Pierre Villeneuve at Trafalgar and also originates from Scotland via a grandfather's surname. I plan on cycling to Hastings one of these days and discussing that fact with a shopkeeper. Just after I have asked at the top of my voice; "Am I in France yet!!?" in as thick a northern accent as I can manage.
