Funny thing is. I was going to back this, then I did a little reading on Fig and changed my mind. Considering that Tim Schafer is on the advisory board to Fig itself. Just all felt very dodgy, so yeah no thanks.
I much prefer non partial places like Kickstarter.

For me, it's a question of whether I trust Double Fine or not, because they are the ones making the game and responsible for delivering it, not Fig. And both times I've supported a project from them they have been very open about the development, including money troubles, and have ultimately delivered the goods. Right now I'm pretty much broke, though, so I just went with the base tier.

Pretty much the same here. I wasn't a huge fan of Broken Age and actually agree with a lot of the criticism levelled against it by RPS' John Walker (though not with the hectoring vehemence he slips into at times), but there was enough there for me to enjoy, added to which I absolutely loved the documentary. I understand people who were burnt by Spacebase DF-9, but the DF games I've played have all brought things to the table that I don't find anywhere else. Will they create a sequel to Psychonauts that does justice to the original? I don't know, and I understand that some may be apprehensive, but I am absolutely willing to give them a chance.

Fair enough

I'm not fussed about contributing to this particular crowdfunding campaign, within a year of release this will be in the 75% off discount pile.

The Fig Advisory Board is not the Board of Directors, nor is it any sort of executive board involved with company operations. It's for advising independent developers who want to use Fig for crowdfunding.

But still involved with the running of the site in one form or another, which is where my issue is with it.
