She was VERY lucky someone wanted to help.

Poor woman. And yeah, she was lucky there was someone around who helped.
Fucking vermin. We have a similar problem in Bucharest, though, unless that article is exaggerating, probably not to the same proportional extent so far. Sterilization works like shit, but whenever extermination gets brought up the animal rights groups go berserk. Fucking retards care more about the lives of dangerous savage animals than the safety or suffering of other people. But hey, unlike rats, these are "man's best friends", big whoop.

I can never watch liveleak stuff because the player crashes firefox for some reaosn, but I can hazard a guess what's going on. I like the ones who know how to catch the train better.
There's been a few incidents here, not by strays as such but just poorly kept dogs in a pack, going for old ladies. It's creepy the way they're perfectly nice doggies most of the time, but then suddenly notice a weak elderly human is slow and easy prey.
It's interesting that people would be against rounding them up. Stray dogs are routinely impounded here. And if no one claims them after a few weeks or they're deemed inhospitable they get exterminated. It's not very nice and I guess people would complain about it if you had to do it too often. But there's also our fairly ruthless native fauna and sheep protecting laws at work.
