Hi everyone;
What I did was to use the exact skeleton of the current ai and replaced it with my custom mesh.
Is the skeleton something that is imported into Max along with the mesh? I don't know anything about this kind of thing but it's something I want to get into.

Impossible :tsktsk:
As you've readed above, there's some flags in the PSA to bind the sound to the animations, so if you wanna add new AIs with complete new animations, there's no way like this.
QUOTE]
Perhaps I wasn't being as clear as I thought there. And it may be impossible anyway, but to recap:
The T3Ed version of ActorX should be able to export PSA files, so new animations should be possible.
The bindings which create sound, I don't think they're the same as the unreal sounds, because from what I remember, that attaches a specific sound to the animation. What we want/need here is to attach a tag to animation instead, so that the TagsDatabase can find out which sound to play. TDS doesn't work as "play this sound", so much as "play a sound for this situation"
Therefore, you might not need to do the "binding" bit anything like in Unreal: by exporting the model with the potential for the binding, it might register anyway because of TDS doing things differently.

...it's also known that one person in particular was credited by the devs as having botched it.
No, no, no. That one person in particular botched the
renderer, not the editor. They're related, but completely different things.

Still I think the renderer is not a problem (nowadays and) especially for a game taking place at night.

Cripes! Somebody needs to write the definitive story of what went down so we can just link to it.:mad::thumb:

It should not be more appropriate to start a new thread, for the beginning of the T3Ed, instead of discussing here?

The renderer still has problems because it is an unoptimized piece of work. Throwing more power at a problem is just a bandaid over the issue. They should have made sure the guys work was solid before letting him go. lol

I just fear that this goes out uncommented again and people use it as another anti-T3Ed argument... well, if there can be any more. :rolleyes:
