Anyone else played DX on PC & PS2 & think the PS2 version is a lot easier? I finished the PS2 version a couple of months ago & even taking into account the fact that I'd already played the PC version, it was very easy. I played it on a higher difficulty setting, & I've not really played any PS2 games before so I wasn't used to the controller- which I detest, & the only real difficulty I had was that the stupid controller is too sensitive which meant I kept falling off ladders.
I also found that some of the weapons skills were a bit pointless- I could get a headshot fairly easily when I was only trained in rifles. I suppose that combined with the smaller areas made me play the game differently- not much point using all your skill points on rifles when there are less oppotunities to snipe. I used the baton a lot more & discovered that I like sneaking up behind people & hitting them nearly as much as I like sniping.

Doesn't the PS2 version incoporate some kind of auto-aim thing (to compensate for the controller)?

Plus theres the inventory. You can carry alot more, plus its all organised into subsections for the PS2 version.
Streamlined levels, though the cutscenes are scrubbed for a more cinematic quality.
I thought things like hacking were better in the PC version.

Yes it has auto-aim. It would be impossible without it, but it's too easy with it :(
The inventory had good points & bad points. I think overall you could carry more, but each slot was for a specific type of item so it wasn't as flexible as the PC version. I coudn't have played it exactly as I did on the PC because I couldn't have carried the same weapons.
Some of the levels were horrible on PS2, particularly Hells Kitchen. I kept getting lost, which never happened on PC.
I possibly preferred the introduction on PS2. The endings were fine on both, except the PS2 Helios ending which I didn't like. For some reason it reminded me of when you die in System Shock & get turned into a cyborg.
