I don't think anyone really likes the way SS2 ended. I'm sure some of you brilliant and creative folks have invented far better ways for the saga of Goggles, SHODAN and The Many to have come to a close.
I would like to hear them.

I think it'd be cool (and even logical) if Shodan, about to be destroyed, started pleading for mercy. But we know her, she wouldn't just ask for mercy, she'd try to convince you to join her side very definitevly, like, promising you amazing powers and whatnot. Of course, since killing her was our goal all along, our character would decline and just finish her off.
But that's a little bland.. perhaps we could have some plot twist at the end or something. Remember those two guys who escaped on a pod, Tommy and someone (forgot her name) turns out a piece of Shodan survived on their ship, heck, maybe she even somehow managed to take over one of them and is now in a "human" form (think of the possible implications of that idea!) I think it'd be pretty chilling especially if done right (like, fade to black to the static or shodan's laughter or something)
oh wait-

Goggles could find out at the end... that he once was a soldier onboard this ship who tried to kill himself during the fights with The Many. But a security bot "malfunctioned" and dragged his corpse down to MedSci where he was brought back to life and the 'plant job was done. The implants weren't only illegal but carried a payload - an AI who will later pretend to be in several places on the ship. So when he faces SHODAN at the end he realizes that she was always with him. And he himself has every power SHODAN has. He creates a gun by manipulating the proto-reality pocket and shoots himself again to kill her once and for all.
Fade into space... a shuttle flies by. Voice over from Tommy Suarez.

I like that one.. :)
But actually.. i do like the way the ss2 ends.. Well the "Nah" thing is pretty stupid but i like the rest.. What i then don't like about it is that there never where any sequel as the game suggests.

Nah thing is most dumb ending i saw in video games it would be better just to put sign "To be continued..." or "The End" :)

Which would be a totally retarded thing to do, since SHODAN would probably just turn him into a mindless cyborg.

Cool, but change the "Citadel station" into "Rickenbacker". And we have to talk about Sloop John B... :nono:

Diego wasn't in a position to kill SHODAN, when he turned sides. Goggles is.
