Fassbender's definitely one to watch ... Shame ...
I see what you did there. ;)

And I'm going to pretend to my death that it was 100% intended. :cheeky: (Seriously, I missed Shame - though I'm sure it'll turn up on Film4 before long.)

How scary is the film? My girlfriend isn't a big fan of horror, but she's a reasonably big fan of going to the cinema with me (and vice versa). :)
It's not a straight-up horror movie by any means, but there's quite a lot of monster movie in the latter half, and there's a couple of pretty gruey moments in there.

Sub, if I thought Inception was too pedestrian to really get my attention, but really enjoyed Primer, do you think I will like this?
As a 3D visual romp maybe, not as a piece of tight story telling with genuine twists.
I am more tending towards a slightly softened version of Neb's opinion. Not nearly enough work on the script. It was like watching a second draft.
Cut Out Crew. And who the hell hires a psychopathic geologist for an interstellar mission etc. etc. etc?
I'd be OK with the crappy procedurals and the WTF exposition if they had dug a little deeper in the themes. They had three iterations of humanity in one room and all we got was a cybernetic evisceration and a bar fight. Every time it edged towards real examination or confrontation it veered off into things gettin' blowed up good...Great production value and design and SFX.

In theatre now--previews. Matinee, geek factor low. Review forthcoming.

Loads of my friends liked it. I feel completely out of touch.
It was a kick in the arse to finally get around to watching Lawrence of Arabia. Now that is a great movie.

Saw it, was okay, still perplexed by the unanswered questions which are starting to seem more like plot holes. Things seemed to be happening just to keep the plot going, without any explanation or rationale. Not a bad film by any means but it could have been so much better.
Edit: Neb basically said everything I was thinking. Agreed 100%.

It's very pretty Briareos, but what are we looking for?
