He's just some dude with, like, a couple of screws loose, a headset, and a Scrooge McDuck Vault.
Precisely.
Project Snowblind may well be a relatively fun action game with influences from the DX world, but there is only a fraction of the depth and the plot seemed strangely plausible.
When I said comic book type villains I mean the character models look too stylized in a comic book fashion and the plot/dialogue (though they made some effort with the AI chatting to each other) was weak at best.
Take than Asian general guy who gives you your orders at the start. He could possibly be compared with Gunther, two supposed bad ass military types. The difference is that I didn't give a shit what happened to the people in snowblind, but I kind of felt sorry for Gunther. The way he must have questioned his existence which conflicted with his sense of duty etc.)weak examples, but I'm tired so bleh)
snowblind may not be a bad game, it just wasn't enough to make me want to finish it.

That guy reminded me of Gunther, too.

I bought and played through the PC version when it first came out. Had fun with it and that's all I cared about.
I know people were complaing about it being buggy, but it only crashed twice on me, and that was during level transitions so I didn't have to replay from a save point. I was using an x800xt, P4 3.2 and win2kpro(no HT).
If you're playing and having issues I recommend disabling HT since that seemed to be a major issue. Might also try using 98 compatibility mode...
hope all you lurkers had a nice Christmas:)

Ended up playing a second time. I am going to do one more play-through and try and not use any bio-augs. Shouldn't be too tough, I beat FEAR on the hardest setting w/out slo-mo

Well, P:S is a straight FPShooter and DX is a FP roll playing game. I would describe Snowblind as Deus Ex light. I'm enjoying playing it, but yeah it's not nearly as deep as DX.

Deus Ex light? Definitely. This isn't an FPS RPG. In a strangely compelling way it feels more true to the setting and style of Deus Ex than Invisible War did. It is kind of like DX:IW tried and failed but P:S didn't care and succeeded.

I just tried the demo of Project Snowblind and it seems to be a plain and unoriginal FPS. In what way is it a "Deus Ex light"? Based on the very short demo level, it looks like Half-Life style (linear and heavily scripted) and not at all like Deus Ex style. Is the full game different?
