(
http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=774) Project Nomad is a great space exploration/trade/combat/adventure game from 1993 which I've recalled (and cleared the dust off it) after playing X: Beyond the Frontier, which is quite similar to it (more than Elite IMHO).
Anyway, it is strange why such a great game (simplistic combat engine nonwhistanding (sp?)) is almost forgotten; And such a shame it is that is has no sequel.

I remember that it got fairly decent reviews when it came out, although sadly I never played it.
A certain Overcats site provided me with a PC version, but running it is another matter entirely... :erg:
(And yes, I do use DOSBox and VDMSound).

Last time I played it was on pure DOS (the pleasures of Window$ 98); there MUST be a way to play it on Window$ 2K/XbuggyP; ask/search around on the Underdogs forum.

I am the owner of a game that I have yet to play called Project Nomad
s - I'm guessing it's no relation, but it's just a bit cheeky to use virtually the same (
http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/473155.asp) name isn't it?

I think the DOS game was actually just called 'Nomad'.

It had one name in the USA and one in Europe, for obscure reasons.
Project Nomads has nothing to do with Project Nomad.

Oh, wait, we're not talking about The Nomad Soul here? Nevermind. :3

Yeah, when I came into the topic I thought you meant Project Nomads.
I wish all these 2D space games had not predated my gaming existence...I wanna play stuff like Star Control II and this:(
