I assume Oct. 9th is 2009, right? Because we definately haven't seen anything to suggest it's anywhere near completion by next month.

I'm pretty sure BlackCapedManX is being deliberately obtuse here

Never attribute to malice what can be adequately explained by stupidity. :p

Someone from the official DX3 forums visited Eidos Montreal in July. You can read about his visit (and view several photos) here:

I don't know if this perspective is in anyway meaningful or authoritative, but since we have little else to go on right now, I found these observations interesting:
Quote:
About the game itself, I can tell you right now: it looks really really great. First of all, from what I gathered, many issues have been taken into account and it looks
the community has played a role in it since their worries are really taken seriously.
Moreover, the early echoes from real players (including fans) are extremely positive.
One last thing, if you're looking for freedom in DX3 you should not be disappointed, it will be a key element.

That's fun.
My natural instinct is to like these guys (the Montreal team), but I also get a sense that he's saying what he's "supposed" to ... of course they're going to play up taking the community's ideas into account and things that fans are going to like to hear. But it's still fun to hear, anyway.
I like it when a human face is put onto the development of a game...
Edit: I also like how the joker face is covering the DXIW box... That's the spirit.
Edit2: Lol, New Horizon is completely derailing that thread, too... I like this quote, thought "It [Deadly Shadows] was good, just not 'as good' as what came before...but I have faith Eidos Montreal will remedy that."

Quote:
There’s been some complaints that games journalism is lacking hard-hitting investigative journalism. With the news that PC Zone’s forthcoming 200th issue will be the first public unveiling of Deus Ex 3, I saw the opportunity to change all that. I know where PC Zone’s London office is. I’m a skilled veteran of many immersive sims. And I have a trenchcoat and can easily buy a pair of shades.
I can break into PC Zone’s office and steal their assets!
So I gave it a shot.
That’s me up in Baker Street, outside the Future London Offices. You’ll see more of the trench-coat. I have pockets full of gizmos and a pair of five-quid early-nineties guitarist-in-bad-industrial-band shades. And I have a plan. Or several plans anyway, most of which are bad plans, but that’s not the point. This is Deus Ex - the multiple routes are the important thing. It doesn’t matter if any of them are any good.
Oh well, he tried.
