I suppose I was being a little generic for my own good. I'm referring to the Paris catacombs and Tiffany Savage hostage missions. I could save the hostages by knocking all the guards unconscious with the prod, I've done it before. What I'm trying to do is to see if it is remotely possible save the hostages without killing any of the guards, or knocking them unconscious, since the game registers these as kills. I know the train one is doable by moving the TNT crates, but the other missions always seem to end with the hostages getting waxed. No doubt that this is because I'm limiting myself too much with my play style. I just find it a little funny that the devs didn't allow some way of accomplishing it, considering how out of their way they went to support everything else.

If memory serves, it's possible to save the subway hostages without moving anything or even firing a shot. Just sneak around in the vents over to where the hostages are, then talk to one of them and tell them to run for it.

You could shoot them until they all run away from you in fear? Or would that be too cheesy and easy for you?

That doesn't normally work with the commandos or MiBs.

Oh, sorry, didn't catch on to that.

Yes it does
I wish I had a more dignified rebuttal but it really really does work. Targetting is a handy thing to have when doing that as you can make sure you take out their legs/arms to make them run off. Especially vital with MiBs.

Mmm, I'll have to try that sometime.
Ok, I'm at Area 51 now and I'm getting the sneaking feeling that Jock ended up blowing up because I didn't tase or kill the mechanic. The funny thing about this is that I'm almost positive that I had the conversation with Jock about the bomb, and then left without doing anything to the mechanic after it was disconnected.

Jock can be saved apparently. The instructions are provided with a youtube video entitled "JC, IT'S A BOMB" or something along those lines.

Jock can be saved at Everett's house. You have to kill (or maybe knock unconcious, I've never bothered with that approach) the fake mechanic and then Jock finds the bomb.

How can you not be sure? He's either incinerated in a hellish fireball, or he flies away without incident. There's really no middle ground here.
