I tried searching this forum, as well as a general web search, but couldn't find any solutions to the issue I'm having.
I started playing Thief: DS and installed the Sneaky Update mostly for widescreen support. The game actually wouldn't run at all without the Sneaky patch. One of the issues I'm having is with shops. I can't highlight the item I want to buy with the cursor; it'll randomly either work, and select the weapon that my cursor is hovering over, or sometimes not select anything at all, or sometimes select a different weapon than where my cursor is. I have to wildly move the mouse around and hope that at some point the thing I want to buy is selected. Even after I get the correct weapon highlighted, though, I can't actually buy anything. Clicking the left mouse button does nothing like 90% of the time.
For example, I wanted to buy a practice lock at the shop in Stonemarket Proper, behind the church. Moving the cursor to the lock would either show in the top left that I had still had Broadhead Arrows selected or nothing selected, etc. After fiddling with the cursor for a while, it finally had practice lock selected. But then, clicking the mouse wouldn't actually buy it, it would do nothing. If I moved the mouse and it landed back on Broadhead Arrows, it was a crapshoot as to whether or not clicking the left mouse button would bring up the menu to select the quantity. It isn't an issue of not having money, I've already fenced off my stuff, it's an issue with shops being unusable.
The second issue is with wallpressing. I don't know if it's just a really contextual action and you can only wallpress on some walls but not others (with absolutely no indication of which walls you can or can't), but wallpress has not worked once. In fact, during the tutorial where they make you wallpress, I went to where the indicator arrow is, pressed the wallpress button, nothing happened, but the tutorial still counted it as complete, so I know it's not an issue with my input/keyboard.
I've tried setting VSync/forcing VSync, and limiting the framerate to both 90 and 60 (I know sometimes too high a framerate can have an effect on gameplay), but changing those didn't fix the issues.

That all sounds weird. Do shops work if you choose a 4:3 screen mode like 1024x768? (Also, post a shop screenshot when running in a 16:9 mode). What happens when you try to run the game without the Sneaky Upgrade installed?
If you're not sure that the game installation is clean, then you'd better remove everything except savegames and reinstall. (Normally the unpatched game can at least start up, so that's a bit suspicious.)
Otherwise, set the log mode to Dump on the tweak tool's Advanced page, then start the game once and post the log here (in code tags please, it'll be long). You can find the current log through the SU progam menu.
