Hello, there have been many posts regarding this topic, all of which have been very helpful. I have the Sold Out DVD rom copy of the game, which also has Thief on the other side of the disk. Thief 2 is the 1.18 version. I had no problems getting the game running, and have installed the DDFix element, so have nice textures, sky and stars. All no problem. I started the first mission, and couldn't get past the butlers quarters. The side door was open but the two other doors in the room were locked. Just by chance, I hooked my laptop up to my desktop monitor on night, and as I tried the mission again, a key was visible on the table next to the coins. I unplugged from the monitor again, and on the laptop, there is no key. Similarly when I reconnected to my desktop monitor, the key was missing. Is anyone else having this problem with missing game items? Is there a way to fix this, as I desperately want to go thieving again! Laptop spec below:
