Problems with Thief 2. Maybe the sound? - by DARTHVR

Thief 2 runs well in my PC in a beginning:
Intel Core2 Duo E6750 2,66Ghz
2GB RAM
GeForce 8800GT 512MB
with Windows XP Service Pack 3
The sound is Realtek HD
but when I'm going to open a door, in mostly cases the game crashes (it freezes). It looks like de sound for open the door is the problem. Any help, please? Thanks.
Ah, and sorry about my bad english.

Interesting problem to say the least. :erg:
I find it kind of funny that a game would crash from playing a sound. You'd be getting a crash much earlier if the the decoder was fucked up, so either the problem has a non-sound related root or that particular wave file is simply corrupted.
Try reach more doors and see if the crash shows its ugly face there as well. I assume you are trying to open the back door to enter the mansion in the first mission?

Thank you for your answers :)
It's strange, I know it. The problem isn't the Dual Core, I fixed it previously. And the problem occurs with all the doors, although not always (but 50% of times). The game isn't corrupted, because I played it in my old PC perfectly, twice.
Thanks again.
