FF 3.5 seemed fine at first. Faster to start and Speed dial isn't so slow to switch tabs.
But now I'm finding that the layout of certain sites is all wrong. Its like some CSS isn't being used or something.
Here is the BBC news site now:

All wrong.
Is this Firefox or an extension? I have Greasemonkey, Ad block, Speed dial, Integrated Gmail and Fire gestures.
Has anyone else seen this?

I do not have any of those add-ons, and BBC looks fine for me. I also have XP Pro, though, not Vista, that might have something to do with it (though it seems unlikely).

news page looks fine for me, although the only one of those addons I have is adblock.

This should be obvious, but anyway:-
Have you tried emptying your browser cache + restarting your computer?
Also if you're using Filterset.G (for Adblock), then cease immediately. It's WAY out of date and often breaks legitimate sites.

Everything WAS good at your posted link. Then it only got better as it gave advice on "the perfect sandwich."

a 3rd option is to use mozbackup to make a backup of your FF configuration, then delete both of the mozilla profiles under C:\users\<user name>\AppData\Local and C:\users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming. Then restart FF let it create a new profile, then run mozbackup again but this time untick all the boxes bar bookmarks and extensions.
