Any time I try to connect to a multiplayer game, it gives me an error message that reads "Problem: Different Version". But this happens even if I connect to a game with the same version - for instance, I got the new 1.00003 patch and I can't connect to 1.00003 servers (or any other ones).
The only thing I could think of is that I'm running a no-headbob mod. Do I have to uninstall that to run multiplayer?

I don't think you can run any mods if you want to play multiplayer, so you'll have to rename your gamedata folder.

Damn. The problem is I have no idea how to uninstall the no-headbob mod:(
What do you mean by "rename my gamedata folder"?

Give it any name other than 'gamedata'. That should be enough to disable any mods ;)

Roger! Thanks bunch:)
Will re-naming it 'gamedate' re-enable the mods?

renaming it to gamedata will, yes. I doubt that 'gamedate' will work though.

Yeah, sorry, I'm Mr. Typo recently.
Multiplayer was pretty sweet - I expected a generic quake-style thing but it's more like Counterstrike in a big open area. I played it in the Freedom base in the dark and it was scary as heck. Also I suck horribly (people with CRTs have an advantage on these uber-dark levels). But it's cool. Though, like counterstrike, it's unbalancing - the better players make more money, so they get better weapons and armor, making them EVEN BETTER. What's with that?
Gonna watch the Artifact Hunt training video and give that a shot.
Also, question: how the heck do I get my quick medkit button to work? I tried assigning it to my mouse buttons but that wouldn't work. Then I tried assigning it to Z (and the radio to mouse) and that didn't work either. Is it just broken in multiplayer? Do I have to use the inconvenient default bindings? What gives?

Haven't tried MP yet. Perhaps sometime we could try setting up a game between TTLGers ;)

I'd love that, but I've never been able to set up a TTLG game before - it always falls through:(

Besides SS2 MP, I've had some decent TTLG UT games as well :)
