Ok, I just installed the demo and when I start the game (after setting up the character) it runs really choppy (less than 1 frame per second). It's completely unplayable. My PC can run BioShock maxed so the problem must be something else. I thought it was a multi core issue, so I disabled the other 3 cores but it didn't worked. Help!

Does anyone know where in the game the demo takes place?

The demo is just the start of the game. Up to showing the gem dealer license to the orc.
IIRC the demo was never released in patched form. So all the bugs and features of the original release are still prevalent in the demo.
