Problem w/ Deus Ex: IW patch... - by Runner17

Hey everyone - having a problem applying the 1.1 patch to my clean installation of Deus Ex: IW. After it gets about halfway through applying itself (overall around 30-40%), an error message comes up saying that two files of the same name are found but do not match, and the patch will not complete. Anyone else had this problem, or know how it might be fixed...? I'm running it on:
Windows XP Pro
AMD Athlon FX-51
Radeon 9800
It's a new machine, so haven't had much time to familiarize myself with XP and so forth, so any help would be appreciated!

Could mean the patch is corrupt. Try downloading it again. Probably a good idea to reinstall the game as well (make sure to backup savegames).

To get a true clean reinstallation, you need to remove the DXIW folder (or whatever you called it).

People have also reported problems with installing the patch if they installed the retail version on top of the Demo version.

False alarm...rage_pot's advice did the trick. Reinstallation fixed the problem somehow Thanks for the help :thumb:
